Jeffrey Allen
Estate Agent Profile

jeffvallen@hotmail.com

Jeffrey Allen was born in Nassau, Bahamas on November 24th, 1970; the city where he spent most of his formative years. He attended primary and secondary schools in Nassau and, for a short time, in the United States. After completing his high school he studied Sociology at The College of the Bahamas.

A few years later he launched a career that started in Public Relations and Marketing at the Counsellors Limited, working with some of the largest public and private companies in the Bahamas as an Account Manager and Consultant. Seeking greater management and operations experience he participated in Burger Kings management training programme at its head office in Miami Florida for the newly reopened Burger King franchise in Nassau. From there, he served as an assistant manager and was then promoted to store manager with responsibility over 60 line staff and 4 Assistant Mangers. Jeffrey also served as Food and Beverage Manager at Bahamas Ferries, overseeing the complete revamp of the entire department, which increased revenues and customer satisfaction. In 2004 he qualified for his Realtors license and began to practice in 2005 with the boutique firm Bahamas Tropical Realty.

Wanting a bit more exposure to the Real Estate Development side of the business, he served as Operations Manager at Heavy Marine and Foundations (HMF): a diversified construction company, with concurrent responsibility for sales and marketing at P&P Development HMFs property development subsidiary that had several major projects under development, which were being marketed locally and internationally. Today, he heads the newly formed Coldwell Banker Commercial Bahamas office based on Grand Bahama Island. The firm is the first of its kind on Grand Bahama to focus strictly on Commercial. He enjoys reading and traveling widely and is happily married with one son. Jeffrey is enthusiastic about the unique opportunities that exists in the Grand Bahama commercial market and looks forward to offering to you the same high standard of service that Coldwell Banker Commercial is known for the world over.

Catherine MacLeay - Realtor Profile
sunfun@coralwave.com

Catherine MacLeay was born in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada July 10, 1960. (This fact alone makes her a natural for The Bahamas; July 10th is Bahamian Independence Day) Cathy has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, a Bachelor of Science Degree and a primary teaching certificate while specializing in Dyslexia. Shortly after graduating university Cathy arrived in The Bahamas to teach for the Bahamian government. That was way back in 1988. After spending 13 years in the teaching profession, Cathy decided to expand her horizons and jumped into the exciting world of real estate.

Cathy’s first love is the water and has spent many an hour both on top and below the turquoise waters of The Bahamas. She swam competitively at the national and international levels in Canada for 10 years. Cathy continued her involvement in the sport once she arrived in Freeport. She worked as an assistant coach for the Freeport Wave Runners and was asked to serve as an assistant coach for the Bahamas Games. She continues to officiate at swim meets whenever she can. She is now involved with Freeport YMCA. Since Cathy was a “Y Rat” from her swimming days, it is only fitting that she continue here in the Bahamas.

While still in the Great White North, Cathy began scuba diving. Where else would one learn to dive but in the frigid waters of Lake Superior? Cathy began managing a dive store, convincing many a northerner of wonders beneath the waves. By the time she left Canada, she was working on her assistant instruction certification. Once Cathy jumped into the tepid Bahamian seas she was converted- neither more dry nor wet suits for her! A t-shirt and sunscreen was all the protection she needed from the elements from now on.

Cathy is married to Dave Mackey, former guitarist of the popular Bahamian group T-Connection now manager of the number one radio station in the country, 100 JAMZ. They have two beautiful children, Cameron and Sierra and have recently been joined by Choklit Mousse, the chocolate Labrador puppy.

Cathy joined James Sarles Realty in 2001 as his first agent. Cathy is deeply committed to her clients. Offering her full attention to all she meets. She believes in helping her clients find the most appropriate property. She is particularly mindful of how newcomers to The Bahamas feel- being in a new county with different customs and attitudes. She remembers her trepidations upon first stepping on these tranquil shores. She is always ready to assist in whatever her clients need – anything from finding a new hair dresser to which school or babysitter is the most appropriate for their child.

Cathy’s philosophy is quite simple; you can expect nothing less than honest, ethical and professional behaviour with a sincere concern for those she meets.

Helena Parotti – Burrows
Estate Agent/Concierge Profile

helenab@coralwave.com

I am proud to say that I was born and raised in Grand Bahama. I am the fifth child of Bahamian parents of Italian and English descent, pioneers who settled in Freeport during the early days of the city’s development. My education took place locally, at St. Vincent de Paul School, Grand Bahama Catholic High School and The College of The Bahamas.

At an early age I married Elvis Burrows and that marriage brought forth two beautiful daughters, Kristen (18) and Eliana (10). I consider my daughters to be the most noteworthy and fulfilling accomplishment in my life. Our marriage has since come full circle.

In my professional career, I have been employed and self-employed in various capacities. I have worked as an office administrator, accountant and sales assistant. I was also a part owner of the company, B & B Auto / Marine. However, my true business passion is Property Management and in 2000 I formed my own company, K.E.E.L. Management Services.

In 2005, I decided to expand my education in the real estate field. After being certified by the Bahamas Real Estate Association, I joined Coldwell Banker James Sarles Realty and look forward with great enthusiasm to serving the Grand Bahama community, the greater Bahamas and the international market as an Estate Agent and Coldwell Banker Concierge. I will continue to offer experience and professional property management services under the entity At Your Service Property Management.

My recreational interests are beachcombing, boating and reading. I love gourmet cooking and catering.

I live my life by the favorite motto of my late father, Robert “Bobby” Parotti: – I shall pass through this way but once. If there be any kindness I can show, or good I can do my fellow being, let me not defer or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again. – Author unknown.

Ina Simmons
Profile

inasimmons@coralwave.com

I was born in Vilnius, capital of Lithuania, February 5th, 1973 , then part of the Soviet Union.

I grew up in quiet an international family of engineers, speaking Lithuanian with my father, Russian with my mother and Polish with my grandmother. I speak English, Spanish, Russian, Lithuanian and remember some Polish.

Since a young age I just knew I was destined for a far away place near the ocean. The thrill of exploring strange exotic lands as well as a challenge of learning different languages took me traveling first to Europe, then all throughout the Eastern and Western Caribbean, Bermuda. South America and consequently the United States.

I am proud to have studied in Vilnius University (one of Europe’s oldest universities founded circa 1560) in faculty of philology, Vilnius College of Commerce and Foreign Languages and Music Academy of Dvarionas for 10 years, majoring in choir conducting and piano.

I have worked in restaurant management and sales where I realized my passion for people. I’ve always enjoyed making my customers happy by providing unsurpassed professional service. I am happy to work with Coldwell Banker James Sarles Realty team continuing on the similar path of communication, understanding people’s wants and needs and going beyond achieving goals of each and every client, finding that perfect dream home or a piece of paradise in the Bahamas.

I’ve lived on Grand Bahama for over 13 years. Quite simply, I love it here, I am home.

There is something here for everyone. The Bahamas Islands are a wonderful place to raise children. I am a rich mom- I have three children: Adam is 12, Maya – 11, and Emma , “the boss” of the household is 8.

In the past I helped my then husband run a marine salvage company and took on a role of a rescue coordinator answering distress calls on marine VHF radio. Via VHF radio I’ve heard many situations that would have been fatal without help at sea. It is fulfilling to know I was instrumental in saving at least two people’s lives on capsized vessels. I can say based on my own experience in the marine business that there are professionals on the island, dedicated to making you feel safe at sea here in the Bahamas.

There are many things to get busy with on the island, a lot of different activities to suit everyone’s tastes and needs.

I myself have a lot of passions. I love to cook and to lose myself improvising on the piano, lunching with my friends and exploring the outdoors. I enjoy gardening and making flower arrangements. I am a member of Freeport Garden Club where we hold our amazing annual Flower Shows. Many talented people from around the world that reside here on Grand Bahama put their talents together and produce surprisingly high level shows in the community theatre group called Freeport Player’s Guild. I’m thrilled to have participated in many wonderful plays, musicals and dance shows. Regency Singers Group I belong to helps me keep up my piano playing skills and sing wide repertoire of choir music. Ballet and yoga I love are fabulous for exercise, good posture and a peaceful mind. My motto is “Bring it on!” – I enjoy facing any difficulty and coming out as a winner every time! Everything is a lesson in life and I try to turn negative into positive and so to my advantage.

It is fabulous to live here enjoying slow island pace (and no traffic to speak of), boating the turquoise waters, island hopping and scuba diving. We enjoy the Sun, the Sea and the Sand. Here on the island we have enough of all three to share with You!
